About Earthquake

A devastating earthquake, measuring 7.6 on the Richter scale, hit the northern part of Pakistan on the morning of 8th October, 2005 . Estimates of the quake's magnitude varied. The Geological Survey put the number at 7.6. With the death toll in the tens of thousands and the casualties in the hundreds of thousands, it is a catastrophe on a scale never before seen in this region.

Emergency Relief Operations

Saudi Public Assistance for Pakistan Earthquake Victims distributed two cargo aeroplanes containing of Emergency Relief Goods and Food Stuff (Tents, Blankets, Jackets, Quilts, Dates, Milk, Medicines, Warm Cloths, Shoes, Socks, Sweaters) at AJ&K and NWFP.

Saudi Public Assistance for Pakistan Earthquake Victims has donated different kind of medicine to Ministry of Health which cost is 4 million Saudi Riyals.

Saudi Public Assistance for Pakistan Earthquake Victims has provided 6000 blankets and 3000 tents to Federal Relief Commission, for AJ&K and NWFP.

Saudi Public Assistance for Pakistan Earthquake Victims has donated 2000 blankets, 2000 tents and 2000 quilts to Pakistan Red Crescent Society for affected areas of Pakistan.

Saudi Public Assistance for Pakistan Earthquake Victims supplied 3000 blankets to International Islamic Relief Organization for the distribution amongst deserving people of Pakistan.

Saudi Public Assistance for Pakistan Earthquake Victims has provided 20,000 Sleeping Bags to Federal Relief Commission, for AJ&K and NWFP.

Saudi Public Assistance for Pakistan Earthquake Victims provided different kinds of Emergency Relief goods and food stuff to different local NGO’s for affected people of Pakistan.
